I stayed in a cabin in Tennessee a few years back, and I had an amazing time. When some friends approached my husband and me to offer this experience again, we couldn’t have said yes any faster! I have a very “type A” personality when it comes to planning trips, so I was a bit uneasy upon learning that my friends had already booked it; however, they couldn’t have chosen a better place to stay! Keep reading to find out why you need to book the Dolly Parton–inspired “Tennessee Mountain Home” cabin in Nashville for your next escape.

Where is Nashville?

Nashville is the capital of Tennessee. It is about a 3-hour drive from both Memphis and Knoxville, which are two of the state’s other most popular cities.

The landlocked state of Tennessee is located in the central-southeastern United States, bordering Kentucky, Virginia, North Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Arkansas, and Missouri.

How to Get to the “Tennessee Mountain Home” Cabin in Nashville

The “Tennessee Mountain Home” cabin stands northwest of the heart of Nashville. Just a short 20-30 minute drive from this secluded property in the peaceful, 4-acre Tennessee woods will take you to the bustling streets of the downtown area. In my opinion, it is in the perfect location.

If you do not have a car, ride-share services are readily available to take you back and forth between the cabin and the city of Nashville.

The photo below should give you an idea of where the cabin is located. However, its exact location can only be provided after booking.

My Stay in the “Tennessee Mountain Home” Cabin in Nashville

My husband, baby, and I arrived at the “Tennessee Mountain Home” cabin on a dark, rainy night. Our friends, who had arrived a few hours earlier, came out to help us with our bags. As I ran through the storm to get to the house, all I could think about was how badly I wanted to be cozy and warm. My wish was granted the moment I stepped inside.

The Living Room

When I walked through the doors, I was greeted by a fire and the cutest country-themed decor. As if it couldn’t have gotten any more charming, the owners had decorated it for Christmas!

There were seven of us staying in the house, but there was plenty of room for all of us to sit around the fireplace and stay warm. We spent the rest of that cold night playing some board games we found in the cabin and enjoying each other’s company.

The Kitchen and Dining Rooms

The kitchen, located next to the living room, was more than I could’ve ever wanted. It was fully stocked with absolutely everything we needed – minus the food, of course.

After cooking, we had plenty of space to sit down and eat together at the dining room table. There was a highchair for my daughter, and, although she was too young for it, it is nice that the owners put so much thought into providing for their guests.

The Bedrooms

When it came time to go to sleep, my husband, baby, and I settled into our loft bedroom. I wouldn’t say this unless I meant it, but it had the most comfortable bed I’d ever slept in. Although we brought a crib for my daughter, we didn’t have to; the owners provided a pack n’ play. My favorite thing about the loft bedroom was the balcony access. I also loved that there were designated spaces in the walls for us to store our suitcases.

Four of our friends stayed with us in this cabin in Nashville, and there was only one other bedroom in the house. It seemed there was not enough space for everyone; that was until I learned that the garage had been converted into a bunkhouse with two bunk beds, a couch, a private bathroom, and laundry. That’s right: the property sleeps 10 people!

The Bathrooms

When I first stepped into the bathroom, my first thought was “Wow, that is a gorgeous bathtub.” I, unfortunately, did not get a chance to take a bath, but I had a few very nice showers in it. Other than the bathtub and cute country decor, the best part of the bathroom was the toilet. Yes, you read that correctly. I didn’t get to explore all the features of the toilet, but I do know that it was heated and automatically opened, closed, and flushed. So cool!

As I previously mentioned, the bunkhouse had its own private bathroom. I did not use this bathroom, but my friends had no complaints.

The Outdoor Area

I was not allowed to go into a hot tub for 6 weeks after giving birth. Having arrived at the Tennessee Mountain Home shortly after I was given clearance, I wanted nothing more than to relax in the bubbly bliss. The cabin, fortunately, had a hot tub, and I spent most of my nights enjoying it. We did have some issues operating the hot tub at first, but we contacted the owners and they promptly helped us out.

The hot tub wasn’t the only outdoor luxury this cabin had to offer. The propane-fueled fire pit was perfect for roasting marshmallows after having enjoyed a steak dinner prepared on the outdoor grill. There was plenty of seating on the deck – I even found a cute little swing!
